King's Ford Infant School And Nursery

'Where everyone matters and every day counts'

Key Stage 1 Curriculum

We work as a team to provide a happy, safe, secure and stimulating environment for learning. Our curriculum is delivered following a thematic approach to inspire and motivate our learners.

We have designed and planned our curriculum to offer a range of experiences which contribute to every child receiving a broad and balanced curriculum.  The range of experiences we offer support and promote our culture and ensures that our children benefit from a full range of academic, spiritual, moral, social and cultural activities.

These activities enrich their lives and those of our whole school community and make them proud of their British values and the diverse society to which they belong and play an active part. We are proud that our curriculum gives our children the skills, confidence and self-belief to lead a happy and fulfilled life by encouraging them to aim high and work towards their goals and dreams in life.

Our normal school day includes English and Maths teaching in the morning, including daily phonics teaching. This is then followed by subjects such as Science, PE, Music and Topic which might include History, Geography, Art and DT, in the afternoon.

Learning is always planned to meet the needs of every child and our aim is for all pupils to become confident, motivated and enthusiastic learners for life. We aim to work in partnership with parents and value your contributions and input into your child’s education. We hold several events and workshops throughout the year to keep you informed about your child’s learning and how best this can be supported at home.

We hope you find this useful and if you require more information, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
